The Hong Kong 3 Arts Musical Institute (3AMI) was founded to provide musical theatre training to all musical theatre lovers of all ages and all levels by nurturing talent and fostering development. It aspires to cultivate young talent and impart professionalism and discipline to musical theatre performers by providing education, training, exposure, advice and information in an environment conducive to networking, research, development, exchange and growth. 3AMI also advocates the pursuit of excellence and life skills through multiple intelligence training. Through singing, dancing and acting, 3AMI provides a brand of training that not only develops artistic skills but important and essential life skills that produce well balanced and high performance individuals.

3AMI MISSION

1. To provide comprehensive, all-encompassing musical theatre training to children, youth and adults, novice and professional musical theatre performers.
2. To provide regular and periodic performing opportunities for students to develop talent, performing craft, discipline and professional work attitude and ethics.
3. To nurture and create musical theatre stars of tomorrow through quality professional training and by regularly hosting master classes with overseas professionals.
4. To promote high standards of professional caliber musical theatre performances.
5. To advocate the pursuit of excellence and development of life skills as well as artistic and creative skills.

BIOGRAPHY Mohamed Drissi, Artistic Director

Initially from Marseilles ( France ), Mr. Drissi is a choreographer, teacher, director, producer and performer who studied extensively a wide spectrum of dance styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Theatre Dance, Modern and African Dances, that are now part of his wide teaching vocabulary of several Jazz Styles & Theatre Dance. In France he studied at the well known Helena and Titus Pomsar ballet studio, as well as with the renown American Broadway and Hollywood performer and choreographer Matt Mattox and in New York he studied with a great number of famous Broadway choreographers and directors such as Chet Walker, Christopher Chadman, Kathleen Marshall, Bob Rizzo and Phil Black, he also spent two years studying extensively in New York at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre School the Broadway Dance Center and Steps Studio. He performed with the companies of Matt Mattox, Manuel Alum, Anthony Morgan, Diane Jacobowitz Dance Theatre and with Forces of Nature Dance Company in modern, jazz and theatre dance.

Mr. Drissi has taught Musical Theatre Dance and Jazz worldwide in Universities and private studios and has created and premiered several jazz works, and choreographed numerous excerpts and full-length musicals. He was a Senior Lecturer Coordinator of the Musical Theatre Dance Program at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts from 1991 - 2005. He regularly choreographed for productions for the HKAPA Musical Theatre Dance Department and the School of Drama and Music. He is a regularly sought-after choreographer for professional theatre companies in Hong Kong and abroad; teacher of Theatre Dance master classes; lecturer and demonstrator in Musical Theatre as an art form; and speaker on the benefit of musical theatre education in primary and secondary schools. Mr. Drissi holds a Master of Fine Arts in Drama (Directing) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Dance Education from the Queensland University of Technology (Australia), a Diploma in Jazz Dance from the French Ministry of Culture. Mr. Drissi brings 27 years of experience as performer and educator in all styles of Jazz and Theatre Dance. Musical Theatre Education has been his big passion and focus for the past eighteen years.
